Full-day Tutorial by NVIDIA on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

  • Two Sessions: Morning and Afternoon
  • Pre-requisites: Basic Experience with Python and Machine Learning
  • Max. no. of participants: 50 in each session
  • Resources: Each participant will be provided with access to 1 GPU for each session
  • Morning Session: This bootcamp will introduce the participants with the GPU Ecosystem for Accelerated Data Science. The session is hands-on and participants by the end of the session not only will learn how to use the stack but also would have solved a real world problem using Machine Learning stack.
  • Afternoon Session: This bootcamp will introduce the participants with the GPU Ecosystem for Intelligent Video Analytics Applications like in Smart City. The session is hands-on and participants by the end of the session not only will learn how to use the stack but also would have solved a real world problem using DeepStream SDK.
  • Instructor: Bharatkumar Sharma (NVIDIA)
    Bharatkumar Sharma has approximately 10 years of development and research experience in the domain of Software Architecture, Distributed and Parallel Computing. He has recently published a book on CUDA 10. He is currently working with NVIDIA as a GPU Advocate. He has expertise in designing Software for Non-Functional Requirements and Software Migration to latest heterogeneous parallel architectures. Bharat received his master degree in Information Technology from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT, Bangalore).

Blockchain Technology, Its Technical Challenges and Role of Formal Methods

Blockchain technology has received all-around attention by the industry as well as academia since it offers numerous advantages. Much beyond its initial success in the finance sector, blockchain is getting progressively embraced by sectors like healthcare, government, manufacturing, energy, entertainment, and gaming. The proposed tutorial would be beneficial and of key interest for beginners, academician and researchers who are eager to find the promising role of blockchain.

Instructors:
Dr. Anshuman Kalla is working as Postdoctoral Visiting Researcher at Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC), University of Oulu, Finland. Engineer from Govt. Engineering College Bikaner in 2004. He did Master of Science in Telecommunications and Wireless Networking from ISEP, Paris, France in 2008 and another Master from University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, France in 2011.

Mr. Raaj Anand Mishra is a software engineer at Dell Technologies. Raaj has experience in fullstack web development, mobile application development and blockchain-based decentralized application (DApp) development.

Dr. Sarada Prasad Gochhayat is a PostDoc fellow at Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, Suffolk, Virginia, and an adjunct faculty at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, USA. He received a Ph.D. degree in communication engineering at the Indian Institute of Science, India, in 2016 and an M.Tech degree in signal processing at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India, in 2010. From 2016 to 2018, he was a PostDoc Fellow at the Department of Mathematics, University of Padua, Italy. His research interest includes security and privacy in distributed computing and network, especially in IoT, cloud computing, and blockchain.

  • Applications of Blockchain Technology with focus on how it can help fight against COVID-19.
  • Creation of efficient smart contracts using Ethereum blockchain and use of remix tool for cost computation.
  • Off-loading Blockchain by Off-chain Storage: Storing the IoT captured data on the IPFS and corresponding metadata on the Ethereum blockchain.

AI in Healthcare: Emerging Trends, Use Cases and Future Directions

This session connects three contemporary areas of research: data analytics, AI and Healthcare. It is relevant for attendees from more than one sector such as Engineering & Technology, Medical, and Industry; and will provide them a collective update on recent developments in this area.

Instructor:
Dr. Mayuri Mehta, PhD(NIT Surat), Professor & PG In-Charge, Department of Computer Engineering, Sarvajanik College of Engineering and Technology, Surat, Gujarat, India. She has 20 years of teaching experience including 11 years of research experience. Her areas of teaching and research include Data Science, Healthcare Informatics, Machine Learning/Deep Learning, Computer Algorithms, Python Programming and Research Methodology. With the intention of applying her technical knowledge for societal impact, she is working on several Healthcare Projects in association with the doctors doing private practice and the doctors of Medical Colleges and their Local Research Units (LRU).
