Special Session on
“AI Driven Blockchain: An Emerging Trend for Computational Intelligence”

Aims and Scope:

AI and Blockchain are often recognized for opening the stage for the fourth industrial revolution. In the previous decade, both technologies have been revolutionary in their own right. On the other hand, the prospect of integrating these two technologies presents both fascinating opportunities and challenges, which is still in its early stages.

This special session aims to investigate the synergistic combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain, as well as to identify disruptors, particularly in terms of the application potential of these two technologies, which are widely regarded as opening the way for the fourth industrial revolution. We want to disseminate the strategy how blockchain technology can help AI and how AI can help blockchain technology improve its capabilities. We hope that this special session would demonstrate the extent of using AI to augment blockchain technology, including consensus mechanism and smart contracts with advances in AI. Furthermore, we intend to showcase a new area of research at this special session: building decentralized applications powered by blockchain technology that act as autonomous agents. Another significant purpose of this special session is to provide cross-fertilization between domains that are already using or plan to employ AI in blockchain technologies. We will have a stronger focus on AI theory and practices related to blockchain technologies in this edition of the special session.

We hope this special session will inaugurate a fertile locus at the ICETCI-2022 to share recent research results and future works on AI with Blockchain. We also hope this session will inspire and generate benefits for the community of researchers in Computational Intelligence. Specifically, we will invite papers and short abstracts on novel approaches, applications, and work in progress research in the context of applying AI to blockchain technology as well as leveraging blockchain to advance AI.
