Research Colloquium

The Fourth International Conference on Emerging Techniques in Computational Intelligence (ICETCI 2024) is being held at Mahindra University, Hyderabad, on Aug 22-24. This is one of the top International Conferences in this domain and is technically co-sponsored by the Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) of IEEE. You may find details including Keynotes, Tutorials, etc. at the website https://www.ietcint.com/

The ICETCI Organizing Committee is delighted to unveil the Call For Abstracts for a Research Colloquium to be held during this Conference. We invite submissions from students and postdoctoral fellows of all engineering backgrounds working in the foundational and applied areas of Computational Intelligence. Students and fellows need to submit a two-page abstract for assessment by a review panel. Accepted abstracts will be offered opportunities for poster presentations and two-minute lightning talks. The selected top two poster authors will be invited to submit full-length papers for potential publication on IEEE Xplore, depending upon adherence to IEEE CIS scope and standards.

This event offers young researchers a platform to showcase and deliberate on their research alongside a distinguished panel of experts. The discourse will encompass feedback on the trajectory and advancement of their research endeavors, aiding in delineating the path forward and suggesting supplementary studies to refine their work. The event will happen on Aug 24, 2024, as part of ICETCI-2024.

The conference theme centers around Computational Intelligence. We welcome submissions that correspond with this theme or other relevant topics from varied backgrounds, encompassing academic, commercial, and governmental research (see the website for the scope of the Conference). Students are encouraged to present research at all stages: from proposal and planning to ongoing and completed projects. Given the diverse array of disciplines, abstracts should be composed in a manner comprehensible to individuals outside your field. There are no restrictions on the number of abstracts an individual may submit. All abstracts must be submitted in PDF format via the online form submission system.

Prospective applicants are requested to furnish a two-page extended abstract of their research work. The status of the first author (undergraduate / postgraduate / doctoral / postdoctoral) should be listed as a footnote on the first page. The submissions can be made here: Submission Link.

The submitted abstract should be organized under the following headers:

  • Introduction: brief discussion of the background or rationale
  • Methods: the experimental approach, materials, and methods
  • Results: the data and results obtained in the study
  • Conclusions: conclusions and/or implications of results

The shortlisted submissions will receive an invitation from the committee. They need to pay the registration fee of Rs.4500 for attending the conference. Authors will deliver a brief overview of their research during a 2-minute lightning talk session, while more detailed work will be presented in a poster session. A poster presentation provides a relaxed presentation atmosphere in which the presenter uses a poster pinned to a poster board to illustrate their research. Presenters will often engage with interested participants on a one-to-one basis, providing excellent opportunities for networking, discussion, and relationship building.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Each presenter will be assigned a poster board and easel to accommodate a poster no larger than 36” x 48”. A panel of the TPC members will judge presentations and the top presentations will receive an award. Presenters must attend the entire poster presentation for the allotted time to respond to questions from attendees and judges.

Selection for participation will be based on the quality and relevance of the submitted abstracts. The two best-selected papers will be invited for full-length papers (8 pages) for inclusion in the IEEE proceedings.
